Cheers to you and thanks for scanning the code to learn more. By picking up this can, you’ve chosen a beer that’s as Alberta as it gets, supporting local farms, producers and communities across the province. That’s what a true Taste of Place is all about!
A Partnership Built on Place
We’ve partnered with Manual Labour Beer Co. in Edmonton, Alberta, to launch a limited-run Taste of Alberta Farmhouse Ale – now available on AGLC shelves and crafted to celebrate 20 years of Taste of Place of the Culinary Tourism Alliance.
As Canada’s leading non-profit dedicated to growing culinary and agritourism, the Culinary Tourism Alliance connects people to the places, producers and experiences that define Canada’s food culture. This collaboration brings that mission to life in a uniquely Alberta way.
Brewed with ingredients sourced from Alberta farms, the limited-edition farmhouse ale is more than a beer – it’s a story in a can, celebrating the people and landscapes behind every sip. It also offers a first taste of what’s to come as the Taste of Place Summit heads to Edmonton in 2026.
At its core, culinary tourism is about the connection between people, land and flavour – a philosophy that Manual Labour Beer Co. embodies perfectly.
Together, this collaboration celebrates what happens when local producers, makers, and storytellers come together. The result is a farmhouse ale that captures the spirit of Alberta, shaped by the land, the season, and the community behind it.
A Taste of Alberta, in Every Sip
The Taste of Alberta Farmhouse Ale is brewed with ingredients sourced directly from Alberta farms and producers, highlighting the province’s rich agricultural landscape.
This rustic, refreshing ale was brewed in collaboration with local partners including Yeast Canada Innovations, 3D Malt Ltd. and Hops Connect. With subtle notes of fresh grain, wildflower honey and citrus salinity, the ale finishes dry with a gentle earthy spice, creating an easy-drinking beer full of personality.
Made for long prairie sunsets, campfire stories and another round with friends, every sip reflects Alberta’s landscapes, ingredients and brewing community.
Each element, from grain to fermentation, is an expression of place. This isn’t just about what’s in the glass, it’s about where it comes from.
Celebrating 20 Years of Culinary Tourism
For 20 years, the Culinary Tourism Alliance has been working alongside chefs, farmers, destinations and partners to showcase the diversity of Canadian cuisine and the people behind it.
This anniversary collaboration reflects that journey, a shared commitment to celebrating local, supporting community and telling stories through food and drink.
