Blackberry Mountain Visits Fogo Island Inn
June 12–15, 2025
This summer, Fogo Island Inn welcomes Chef Joey Edwards, and Wellness Manager Meghan Henley from Blackberry Mountain, to deliver an exciting multi-day event where nature, nourishment, and wellness all come together in powerful ways to create an experience that helps guests unwind, reflect, and connect with themselves and place.
Guests are invited to experience a rare and remarkable collaboration between Fogo Island Inn and Blackberry Mountain — two Relais & Châteaux properties that share a deep commitment to place, purpose, and hospitality. Both have been awarded the prestigious Michelin Keys, recognizing their dedication to exceptional guest experiences rooted in culinary excellence and cultural immersion.
Tucked into the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, Blackberry Mountain is the adventurous, wellness-focused sister property to the acclaimed Blackberry Farm. Opened in 2019, it continues a legacy of elevated Appalachian hospitality and nature-inspired living.
At Fogo Island Inn, this spirit of connection comes to life through the culinary partnership of Executive Chef Joey Edwards of Blackberry Mountain and Executive Chef Tim Charles of Fogo Island Inn. Together, they craft a series of fire-forward, foraged meals that bridge their rugged homelands — one surrounded by forested peaks, the other wrapped in North Atlantic waves. Chef Joey brings bold, earthy flavours and open-fire cooking traditions, while Chef Tim’s deep-rooted understanding of Fogo Island's ingredients offers a grounded, maritime balance.
Between meals, guests can unwind with wellness experiences led by Meghan Henley, Blackberry Mountain’s Wellness Manager. With expertise honed across both Blackberry properties, she guides sessions in breathwork, yoga, and creative mindfulness, offering space to reflect within the Inn’s dramatic natural surroundings.
This immersive collaboration is more than a retreat — it's a meeting of landscapes, philosophies, and creative minds. A shared journey that nourishes body, spirit, and soul, with Fogo Island’s ever-changing sky and sea as the unforgettable backdrop.

August 29 - September 2, 2025
In late August, Fogo Island Inn welcomes back one of its most celebrated culinary alumni, Chef Jonathan Gushue, for a reunion rooted in place, creativity, and the evolving story of Newfoundland cuisine. In collaboration with Executive Chef Timothy Charles, this five-day culinary gathering invites guests to savour an experience shaped by shared history, wild ingredients, and the elemental beauty of the North Atlantic.

From themed dinners and hands-on workshops to a voyage to the Little Fogo Islands and a deep dive into the Fogo Island Fish experience, this event is crafted for culinary enthusiasts who appreciate bold flavour, regional storytelling, and a strong sense of place.
Guests will also enjoy guided yoga, hiking with outdoor adventure guides, and the Inn’s signature cultural immersion, including a warm Island Orientation hosted by a member of the Fogo Island community.
